IIn the Fall of 2023, an opportunity arose for us to add Karen to our program. After some thoughtful discussion, we decided to move forward, and we’re so glad we did. Karen is a striking bicolor female with strong bone structure and a pedigree that speaks for itself. She’s line-bred 2–4 on the renowned Quardes von der Staatsmacht, with Terror von der Staatsmacht as her maternal grandfather, two dogs I’ve long admired and hoped to see in my future breeding.

Karen has more than lived up to those expectations. She’s powerful and confident in protection, delivering full, firm grips, and her obedience work reflects her clear-headed drive to please. On the tracking field, she’s methodical and precise, working with a deep nose and thoughtful article indications.

Moving forward, I’ll be pursuing IGP-style tracking and PSA with her, and I couldn’t be more excited to see how far she goes.

While Karen’s progeny will not be eligible for SV show ratings, breed surveys, or participation on the WUSV World Team due to a three-generation SV restriction, they will still be fully eligible for USCA performance show ratings, USCA breed surveys, and participation in other world teams and organizations. This does not impact their working ability, trainability, or value within our program—we remain incredibly proud of the quality and potential she brings to our breeding goals.

"The breeding of shepherd dogs is the breeding of working dogs; and this must always be the aim, or we shall cease to produce shepherd dogs."
