The German Shepherd Dog

Here at Nordsternstaat we have primarily West German Working Line German Shepherd Dogs. We find my things appealing about this line, primarily the balance of good structure with a solid temperament.

Some history with this line is as follows. After World War II when Germany was split into 2 the breeding lines also were split. It is said that the West German Working Line is the closest representation of Captain Max v. Stephanitz’s ideal specimen for the breed. In the breeding that followed the main focus of the program was to have correct working structure, a stable temperament, and preservation of the working drives. This line we have found also aligns with our ideal of a German Shepherd so we attempt to breed close to their ideals. You will also see some Czech and West German Show line in our dogs. We do put an ideal match first versus line, but rest assured we will always do our due diligence and research all dogs within the pedigree to be able to answer questions you may have.
